The Sustainable Control of Parasites in Sheep (SCOPS) group has warned sheep farmers to be increasingly vigilant as the risk from a number of parasite species increases across the UK. The SCOPS nematodirus forecast now shows most parts of England and Scotland are at high risk with Scotland and Northern Ireland’s risk status also increasing.

In Southern England, sheep farmers are warned to be on their guard as a surge in the numbers of ticks has been reported in the past week.
