Save the date for SBRT 2026 Conference – “Breeding solutions for a changing world”

The sheep breeders round table (SBRT) is pleased to announce that the next biennial conference will take place from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd November 2026. Having considered numerous venues across central UK, the location remains as the Radisson Blu Hotel East Midlands, Derby which offers ideal facilities for a relaxed weekend conference at a competitive rate. Please save the date to ensure you can join us.

SBRT 2026 conference – Breeding solutions for a changing world – programme draft: 

• Friday 20th November: two afternoon sessions, commencing 2pm
  • Breeding for the environment (Part I)
  • Genomics and sheep breeding
  • Drinks reception followed by an evening meal 
• Saturday 21st November: two morning sessions, a buffet lunch, two afternoon sessions
  • Breeding for the environment (Part II)
  • To shed or not to shed – is that the question?
  • Genetics – worth the investment? An interactive session
  • Measuring performance – phenotype is king
  • Drinks reception followed by an evening meal 
• Sunday 22nd November: two morning sessions with departure after a buffet lunch
  • Healthy genetics
  • The hills are alive with lamb survival
