BVA’s Young Vet of the Year 2026, supported by Zoetis, is your opportunity to celebrate vets in the early stages of their career who are making an incredible contribution to their workplaces and across the profession.

Do you know a vet, or are you one, who has gone the extra mile and shown outstanding care, dedication or success? Nominees may have delivered exceptional care to a patient; made a positive contribution to their community or the wider veterinary profession; or shown their dedication to a cause. If they have made an impact: we want to hear about it.

As well as urging veterinary professionals to nominate their early career colleagues, animal owners and vet clients are being invited to help shine a spotlight on deserving vets who have been there for them and their animals. Early career vets can also self-nominate for the award.

Over the years, the award has highlighted individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment, resilience and vision while navigating the challenges that come with the first years in practice. Their stories are powerful reminders of the talent and dedication within our profession, and you can read more about some of our previous winners below.
